I think my friend is in danger. What can I do?

Are you afraid that your friend is being hurt or abused? The most important thing is to tell someone you trust. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

When did you last see them?

If you see them regularly, talk to them and see if there's anything you can do to help them. If you last saw them a few days ago, and you don't know where they are, check if anyone else has seen them. If you can't find them, ask a trusted adult to help.

What have they told you?

Think about if you remember them saying anything about being afraid of someone or something. Did they say anything about what happened to them, or why they were scared? The more you can remember, the more you can tell a trusted adult.

Who do you trust?

If you know an adult you can trust, who will be able to help (like a parent, teacher or counsellor), tell them. If you're not sure who to trust, call a toll-free line like Childline on 08000 55 555.

Remember, it's not up to you to rescue anyone. You can just do whatever you can to help. And that means not putting yourself in danger, too.
