Let's jive and dance to keep fit and healthy

South Africa is a place of rhythms; people always dance, sing and create melody. We are very big in music genres like house, kwaito, pop and recently hip hop. The world knows us for the melodies and beats that run in our veins.


Did you know that dancing can keep us fit and healthy?


The only thing you need to keep fit in your home is music that you can jol to. Dancing involves movement of core muscles such as your back (spinal cord), causing you to become more flexible and strong. It also helps with your balance and coordination because you have to create dance moves to match the tune of your jams. The creation of dance moves also improves your brainpower since you focus to be able to jol to your jam. To make dancing really count:

  • Dance regularly, at least 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes each time.
  • Invite a friend to jive with, wear comfortable clothes and have breaks in between songs and drink water.
  • Choose songs you enjoy jamming to, preferably those with a more up-tempo beat.
  • Remember dancing is just moving your body any way you want, you can even Whip and Nae Nae!
