And when using contraception like pills and injections let's remember it only prevents pregnancy not HIV or other infections guys so we should use Dual protection all the time so we could be on the safe side all the time.

Can we use male and female condom at the same time?

B-Wise Expert Expert 10 March 2019 22:22

Dear Anonymous. The male and female condoms should not be used at the same time because friction can break them, make them stick together, or make one or the other slip out of place during sex. It’s best you choose one between the two to protect you and your partner. Learn more about female condoms here: How to use a female condom.

At the age of 12 years old you can bare a child???

B-Wise Expert Expert 8 March 2019 22:52

Dear Anonymous. A woman can get pregnant and have a baby as soon as she begins ovulating, or producing eggs. This is when you start getting your periods. At this stage you are fertile and can get pregnant if you have unprotected sex.

B-Wise Expert Expert 5 July 2018 18:32

Hi there, Sex and contraception may be difficult topics to talk to your parents or caregivers about and it can be uncomfortable for them as well! Here are tips you can try to introduce the topic http://ow.ly/c3nA30kOxGP

Went to one of my local clinics to get Contraceptive pills but I was told pills are not distributed to school girls yet from what I read here it says "Remember, if you are 12 years old and older you have the right to get contraception." And I'm 17 years old

B-Wise Expert Expert 5 April 2018 18:10

Hi Anonymous, sorry to hear about what happened to you at your local clinic. What you read on the site is accurate – by law, if you are 12 years old and older you have the right to get contraception. The National Department of Health wants to make all clinics youth-friendly. You can report good or in your case bad service, and find another clinic close to you, here.

Hi what is the course of urine burning?

B-Wise Expert Expert 20 March 2018 15:48

Hi Anonymous, thank you for your question. There are a number of reasons that could cause burning urine. It could be caused by a bacterial infection, or by an STI such as chlamydia or gonorrhoea. It’s best to see a nurse or doctor to get tested and treated. Use our Clinic Finder to help you find a clinic near you. Our articles can also give you more information about STIs: check out I have a discharge-do I have an STI and I don’t want to get an STI-How can I protect myself?

Ayanda on Facebook asked: Its biased on our health ryt so is it possible to get pregnant on you first sex experience??

B-Wise Expert Expert 1 March 2017 12:35

Hi Anonymous, Yes, it is possible to get pregnant any time you have sex, even if it’s your first time. Using contraception and a condom every time you have sex will help to protect against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It’s a good idea to check with your nurse or doctor if you think you may be pregnant. You can also get advice from them on how best to protect yourself from sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV and pregnancy. Read the Basics of Sex section on B-Wise for more information on this topic and many others.
