Privacy Notice

How personal information is handled

This Privacy Notice describes how personal information is processed when the bWise Health website and related features are used, including contact, callback, and WhatsApp-linked support options.

  • Effective date: 17 February 2026
  • Applies to: bwisehealth.com and related pages and features

1. Purpose and scope

The purpose of this notice is to describe the collection, use, sharing, retention, and protection of personal information associated with the use of the website and its related features.

2. Responsible party and contact

The responsible party is bWise Health (as presented on the website). Privacy-related queries may be sent to privacy@bwisehealth.com.

3. Personal information categories

Depending on which features are used, the following categories of personal information may be processed:

  • Contact and identification data: name (if provided), email address, mobile number, and message content submitted via forms or callback requests.
  • Account and profile data: information provided in profile functions (where available/used).
  • Communications metadata: timestamps, routing information, and delivery-related metadata for enquiries and support interactions.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser characteristics, pages viewed, and approximate location derived from IP address (typical for website operation and security).
  • Health-related or sensitive content: information voluntarily included in questions or support interactions, which may include sexual and reproductive health topics.

4. Sources of personal information

  • Information submitted directly through the website (forms, profile functions, feedback).
  • Information submitted via WhatsApp when a WhatsApp link or counselling option is used.
  • Information generated through ordinary website operation (logs and security telemetry).

5. Purposes of processing

  • Provision of requested services and responses, including callback requests and support interactions.
  • Operation of counselling and self-assessment entry points where those features are used.
  • Platform administration, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and security monitoring.
  • Aggregated reporting and service improvement, with preference for de-identification and minimisation where feasible.

6. Lawful basis

Processing is performed on lawful bases recognised under applicable data protection law. These may include consent (where voluntarily provided), performance of services requested by a user, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate operational interests such as security and service integrity.

7. Special personal information

Certain information shared in questions or support interactions may constitute special personal information (for example, health-related and sex-life information). A strong expectation of minimisation and user choice applies, including explicit consent where required.

  • Only information necessary for support should be included.
  • Use of WhatsApp or similar channels involves third-party processing by those platforms.

8. Children and young people

The service includes content directed at adolescents and young people. A minimisation approach is applied: unnecessary personal information should not be collected, and safer defaults should be used where possible.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

Standard web technologies (cookies, local storage, and log files) may be used for session management, security, and basic functionality. Optional analytics or marketing cookies, where used, should be subject to user choice through a cookie banner or settings mechanism.

10. Sharing and third parties

Personal information may be shared on a limited basis for service delivery (hosting, security, and operational support providers acting under contractual controls), WhatsApp interactions (when WhatsApp links are used), and legal or safety requirements. No sale of personal information is performed under this notice.

11. Cross-border transfers

Cross-border processing may occur where infrastructure providers or communications platforms operate internationally. Appropriate safeguards should be applied where required by applicable law.

12. Information security

Reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational measures are applied to protect confidentiality and integrity. No transmission or storage method provides absolute security.

13. Retention

Retention is guided by data minimisation: information is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice, legal requirements, dispute resolution, and audit needs, after which deletion or de-identification is performed where feasible.

14. Data subject rights

Subject to applicable legal requirements and limitations, rights may include access, correction, deletion, objection, withdrawal of consent (where applicable), and lodging of a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority.

15. Updates to this notice

Updates may be made to reflect feature changes, legal developments, or operational requirements. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the latest revision.

16. Contact

Privacy-related queries and requests should be submitted to privacy@bwisehealth.com.
